ABOUT ME

Thank you for visiting my page. I am a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) in Michigan and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois, as well as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). I work with women, and mothers. I specialize in psychotherapy (talk therapy), art therapy, and Somatic Experiencing® to support individuals in navigating life’s challenges. I work with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, women’s issues, perfectionism, overachievement, life transitions, and somatic issues.

I have been practicing psychotherapy and art therapy since 2009. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University in 2007, where I participated in the Adolescent Diversion Project, working with youth in the justice system. I completed my Master of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago in 2009, focusing on school social work, and discovered a strong passion for integrating art therapy into my practice. To deepen this skill, I earned a Master of Counseling Psychology in Art Therapy from Adler University in 2011, where my focus was on inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment.

My clinical experience spans from outpatient psychotherapy in private practice, community mental health, inpatient and emergency department social work, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, and school social work. I am committed to helping clients explore their presenting concerns and past traumas by identifying realistic solutions and taking actionable steps toward meaningful change.

I am currently working toward completing my training in Somatic Experiencing®, a program developed by Peter Levine, Ph.D., which focuses on healing trauma held in the nervous system. I find this approach particularly effective for chronic or treatment-resistant issues by supporting clients in reconnecting with their body and promoting long-lasting change.

I took a few years away from private practice to raise my two daughters, who are now in school full-time. I am excited to return to my practice working with women and mothers. I understand firsthand how rewarding—and sometimes isolating—this stage of life can be, and I bring that perspective into my work.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about my approach to therapy or would like to learn more.
